It was Father’s Day 2018 when I found out I was pregnant. Hubby and I were driving home from visiting my parents when the anxiety consumed us and we stopped to get a pregnancy test. The second I got home, I took it. And, two minutes later, we got the most life-changing news either of us had ever received.
This last year has been a rollercoaster. There have been ups and there have been downs. But, overall, it’s been a lot of fun. Being parents wasn’t something we were planning on but it’s something we both love so much.
I am so proud of my hubby for how well he’s adjusted to his new role. He really has become the father I always dreamed of giving my babies. He’s dedicated, patient, funny, optimistic, and caring. He spends all day, five days a week, with Norah. Not only does he care for her, he cares for me, too! He makes me dinner every night and does the dishes so I can spend the couple of hours I have after work before she goes to be with my baby girl.
I honestly couldn’t imagine doing this whole parenting thing with anyone else. So, first and foremost, I want to wish a very Happy First Father’s Day to my hubby! We’ve come so far in a year, and I can’t wait to see what the next eighteen (plus!) years have in store for us.
And, second, I want to say Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there! Hope you all enjoy it as much as we will!
