Waiting for my Mini Me…

This is my first blog post. And, it’s early. It’s early because I’m impatient; I can’t deny it. But, can you blame me?

I’m waiting for Baby to be born!

And it’s driving me crazy. So, to pass the time… since it seems like that’s all I have these days… I’ve decided to go ahead and start this blog. It’s something I’ve been thinking about doing for a while now. I just always assumed I should have the Baby around before I actually started blogging about being a mom.

But… let’s face it. We all know we become moms the moment that little plus sign pops up on the pregnancy test.

So, with that in mind, I figured I’d get the ball rolling and start with my “who I am and what I’m doing here” blog post.

Who I am:

Besides a very impatient mama-to-be… I’m a wife, puppy mama, book collector, and food lover. I like life to be simple. I HATE clutter. And, I’m a little bit of a neat freak–we’ll see how that pans out when Baby gets here!

What I’m doing here:

I have loved being pregnant. And I’m so excited about being a mom. One thing I’ve discovered through this journey is that having a baby somehow makes being a woman feel like so much more of a community! It’s crazy! Women everywhere I go love talking to me about my pregnancy and theirs, sharing stories and advice, and nodding along with that I-know-all-too-well expression when discomforts are mentioned or fears are expressed. It’s such a beautiful thing! And I want to continue to share my experience with others.

My blog is about my “minimalist” approach to raising Baby. It’s not just Baby, but my entire life, really, that I try to keep simple and basic–no clutter, please!

I don’t know what’s in store for my little family but I know it’s going to be so amazing (and stressful, and challenging, and rewarding, and all the other things that come with being a new parent). But, I am going to share my journey here, and hopefully some of you out there in the blogging universe can benefit from my struggles, celebrate my victories, and maybe throw in some advice or encouraging words along the way–because we all know new moms (or any mom, for that matter) can always use an encouraging word or two now and then.

Oh, and in case you’re wondering TODAY is my due date…
